Buick Links with ExxonMobil for Faster Payments

Buick is joining forces with ExxonMobil on an updated version of Marketplace, its in-car payments platform.
Eligible Buick vehicles will receive the update, which will allow drivers to buy fuel from ExxonMobil via their vehicle’s infotainment screen, rather than their credit card or smartphone. Buick says the platform automatically synchronizes with the driver’s ExxonMobil Speedpass+ customer rewards account and is available at over 11,000 US gas stations. It also says drivers can enroll in Speedpass+, via the updated Marketplace, and locate the nearest ExxonMobil gas station.
Buick Marketplace line of business leader Rick Ruskin said the company hopes “to help make everyday tasks as easy as possible for our customers so they can focus on enjoying time spent in their vehicles”.
ExxonMobil Americas digital app development manager Devin Miller also commented on the move, saying his company first “rolled out mobile payment options to our US network in 2015 and we are continuing to innovate and simplify our consumer experience by partnering with General Motors”.
