Bosch Pioneers In-Car 3D Display

Bosch has designed an in-car 3D display system, saying it can deliver important information to the driver more efficiently than a conventional screen.

The system uses a passive 3D effect to generate content in three dimensions without the need for 3D glasses, meaning the driver can sense depth due to field of view, similar to how a virtual reality headsets work.

This means information “jumps out” at the driver, according to Bosch, and can better convey things like when the driver needs to take over from ADAS, the distance and stopping time to a hazard on the road, a traffic jam, or for reversing with the rear view camera.
