Autodesk extends agreement with Tele Atlas

The two companies have collaborated on LBS applications since 2003.

This extended agreement gives Autodesk access to Tele Atlas' global digital map content and products, including content for nearly thirty million POIs and additional map content products.

Autodesk will also use Tele Atlas Address Points, which will allow Autodesk developers to position addresses on maps so that their applications can direct users to specific property parcels and even buildings within the parcel.

Today, Autodesk-powered applications featuring Tele Atlas digital map data and content span the enterprise and consumer wireless arenas, including Vodafone's Mensa-Red Localización and Jumptap's numerous mobile search deployments.

"Increasingly, the mobile and Internet arenas are converging on LBS, and as consumers demand more sophisticated GPS-enabled services, the development community insists on quick access to location content to deliver their offerings," said Tele Atlas vice president of consumer markets, Jude McColgan, adding that the partnership with Autodesk will enable quicker delivery of more global coverage and content for these services.
