Audi Targets Fleet Management With AI Partnership

Audi appears to be ramping up involvement in commercial fleets in partnership with an AI start-up.
The German automaker has signed an agreement with Tel Aviv-based start-up Fleetonomy to employ AI to improve its fleet management offering. Audi is hoping the deal will help create a more efficient and productive system for its on-demand services, reducing costs and increasing revenue.
On-demand transportation services from auto manufacturers are becoming more common as shared mobility operators, such as Uber and Lyft, reduce incentives to own vehicles.
By harnessing the data a fleet generates, including demand from certain locations at different times of day or recording popular routes, real-time decision making should be improved enhancing the day-to-day efficiency. The partnership could also help Audi manage mixed fleets of both autonomous and human-driven vehicles.
