Audi SUV Pumps Up the Power

Audi launches its latest seven-seater SUV with enough power to press all the kids back in their seats and smear the family dog against the tailgate window.
The new Audi SQ7 TDI boasts a biturbo 4.0-liter V8 diesel engine with electrically powered compressor pumping out 433bhp and 663ft-lbs of torque produced from just 1,250rpm. This is enough grunt to sprint the big beast to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds up to its electronically limited 155mph top speed.
The 48-volt electrical subsystem feeds an electrically powered compressor that boosts the two turbochargers with fresh air to alleviate turbo lag when accelerating hard from low rpm. The compressor is integrated into the intake air tract and features a compact electric motor pushing its impeller to up to 70,000rpm in just 250 milliseconds.
Connected technology in the cabin features Audi’s MMI navigation plus, which includes touch-screen operation, LTE Advanced connectivity, a Wi-Fi hotspot, natural voice control and a connected portfolio, bringing traffic information online, navigation with Google Earth, hybrid radio and the cloud-based Amazon Alexa voice service. All features are shown with a display in the Audi virtual cockpit. There is also a performance view, which places the rev counter in the center.
