Audi Pledges 30 Electrified Model Range by 2025

Audi has promised to field a model range featuring at least 30 with electrified powertrains within the next six years.

During a presentation to shareholders, the automaker said that by 2025 its portfolio will include 20 of electrified range will be all-electric. By this time, the company promised, at least three models will have been launched based on the modular electric-drive kit (MEB) for more compact vehicles. The first models on the larger premium platform electric (PPE) architecture developed together with Porsche will be available shortly after 2020. Audi expects electrified automobiles to account for about 40% of worldwide unit sales by 2025.

Along with these ambitions, Audi has set itself the goal of making the entire vehicle lifecycle CO2-neutral, from production to the use and recycling of old models. It hopes that with company-wide decarbonization, the CO2 footprint of the vehicle fleet will be reduced as a first step by 30% by 2025 in comparison with 2015.

Bram Schot, chairman of the board of management of Audi, said: “Our vision stands for a new consistency in the strategic alignment and its implementation. We want to create the strongest customer experiences in our industry and thus lead Audi to the forefront of change in the premium segment.”
