Aéroports de Paris acquires Masternaut’s French partner

The multi-million euro deal will enable Hub télécom to develop and provide fully integrated telecommunications and mobile resource management solutions for France's transport, freight and logistics market.

In the UK, Masternaut solutions are sold through an independent business partner: Masternaut Three X.

This acquisition opens a new chapter in the evolution of Masternaut worldwide, whilst retaining a strong relationship with European toll road technology and infrastructure organisation, Sanef, which originally purchased Masternaut in July 2004.

Under the new ownership, Masternaut will continue to work with Sanef, and is currently engaged in a number of major government-backed initiatives for road tolling projects in the UK and across Europe.

Masternaut Three X is a 30% shareholder within Sanef's road toll business in the UK.

Martin Port, managing director of Masternaut Three X in the UK, says that the acquisition of Masternaut in France brings huge opportunities in transport, logistics and RFID, together with significant growth potential for services.

"Within Masternaut we now have vital capabilities spanning real-time vehicle and mobile resource tracking, mobile computing solutions, wireless telecommunications and Microsoft Dynamics," said Port.

Masternaut is represented in fourteen countries, and has sold more than 100,000 telematics units across Europe, more than half of these fitted into vehicles in the UK.

According to Masternaut's general manager Serge Deleau, the Hub télécom marketing network will enable Masternaut to strengthen its development strategy as well as its presence on the French and European markets.
