Android search app adds location from Skyhook

Fuzzy Squirrel Software has announced the integration of Skyhook Wireless's XPS location into its What's That? Android search application.

What's That? determines location and searches multiple databases, including Wikipedia, for information about landmarks, stores and other objects in the user's area.

According to Fuzzy Squirrel Software CEO Chris King, the Android location API returns location too slowly and too inaccurately to support the What's That? app, and Skyhook Wireless fills the gap that Android leaves in location.

What's That? can be downloaded for $1 in the Android Marketplace. Skyhook Wireless offers a publicly available SDK for Android developers, available from http://www.skyhookwireless.com/developers/sdk.php.
