America News: XM to be factory fitted in more Hyundai and Toyota models

Hyundai continues the rollout of XM Satellite Radio as a standard feature on almost all its 2008 models, and Toyota is to launch the first models with factory-fitted XM Satellite Radio.

In the 2008 model year, Hyundai’s Tiburon, Accent and Tucson vehicles will all have XM as standard, and it will also be a factory-installed standard feature on the 2009 Elantra Touring.

XM Radio is already a standard, factory-installed feature on the Azera, Elantra, Santa Fe, Sonata and Veracruz.

With the addition of the Accent, Tiburon and Tucson, approximately 95% of all new Hyundai vehicles will now come equipped with standard XM Satellite Radio.

In the Toyota stable, the 2009 Toyota Corolla and Matrix will be the first Toyota brand vehicles to offer XM Radio as a factory-equipped feature, and XM NavTraffic as an option with the available GPS navigation systems.

XM and XM NavTraffic are already available as factory installed features on the Lexus LS 460 and 600h models, and will be available as factory installed on the upcoming 2008 LX 570.

Toyota's annual factory production of XM-equipped vehicles is expected to exceed one million by 2010.
