America News: Verizon quietly disables BlackBerry GPS

According to a recent US News report, Verizon has “crippled” the maps program that came with the new BlackBerry 8830.

The article points out that Verizon has a history of this behaviour, having crippled the Bluetooth functions on its cellphones, too.
