2020 Audi S6 Has Twin-Turbo V6 and Mild Hybrid

The US model of the 2020 Audi S6 will feature a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6, making 433bhp and 443 lb-ft, with a 48-volt mild hybrid to assist in the low rev range.

The gasoline motor enjoys a wider torque curve than previous generations, according to Audi, and the mild-hybrid helps eliminate turbo lag by placing an electric compressor directly in the turbochargers, with the twin turbos kicking in after 250 milliseconds with a maximum of 70,000 rpm. All this means the car claims a 0-62mph sprint time of 4.4 seconds with power being delivered to all 4 wheels via the automatic 8-speed transmission.

Inside the car has been upgraded with 10.1-inch full-color touchscreen display, standard satellite navigation and ‘virtual cockpit’. The European version, which features a turbo-diesel V6, will go on sale this summer, while the 2020 S6 will be available later this year, costing $74,895.
