200 experts gather in San Diego this June to discuss how to increase grid intelligence

Hosted by leading utility San Diego Gas & Electric, the first ever annual Smart Grid Technology Conference & Expo (2-3 June, 2010) in San Diego, CA, has over 50 of the top utility executives set to discuss winning strategies to increase penetration of smart grid technologies on the grid.

Over the past 18 months, the smart grid industry has experienced a significant growth in interest and investment with the new administration pumping billions to upgrade existing networks with intelligent technologies, solutions and services.

However, new tech entrants and cross-industry giants are still trying to find the right mix of solutions to match the budgets and tech requirement of the slow moving electric utilities.

The annual Smart Grid Technology Conference & Expo (2-3 June 2010, San Diego, CA) targeted at the technology industry is uniquely positioned to bridge this very disconnect and provide the vendor community with tools necessary to develop the value added, cost-effective and custom made solutions.

Following a keynote from Lee Krevat, the Director of Smart Grid Programs at San Diego Gas & Electric, the event has some of the top names sharing best practice with case studies, pilot results, and interactive session including Google PowerMeter, Verizon, Sprint, Seattle City Light, TVA, Better Place, Bluetooth SIG, EPRI, Wireless Communication Alliance amongst others.

The conference will unite electric utilities, regulatory bodies, service providers, tech giants, wireless carriers, communication network providers, meter manufacturers, software developers, system integrators, consultants, and many others.

The programme covers a complete market overview, communication networks, home automation, standardisation, electric vehicles, growth opportunities in Europe, scaling up technologies and much more. The full conference programme with speaker line-up is now available. Click here
