    Ramon Lopez is the Vice President of Claims Innovation.

    Ramon joined USAA in December 2003 as a claims adjuster and has held many member facing claim positions to include catastrophe response and deployment.

    During his tenure at USAA, Ramon has led teams in the auto and property claims organization. He spent almost three years as a Director in the Norfolk claims office, helping to lead efforts associated in becoming a process driven claims organization as well as participating on matrix teams focused on the claims development roadmap. As a leader in Virginia, Ramon spent time as the catastrophe logistics director deploying on hurricanes, tornadoes and many other events impacting our members.

    In his current role, Ramon is dedicated and passionate about leading in the new P&C experience organization. He has responsibility for claims innovation in auto, property and auto physical damage. Some of the efforts include but aren’t limited to: total loss car fulfillment, personal property fulfillment and image analytics.

    Ramon has the honor and privilege to serve on the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on behalf of USAA. The Chamber has been selected as one of the best run Chambers in America and is a strong advocate for Hispanic business and Hispanics in business for the past 85 years.

    Ramon has a Bachelors’ degree and is currently enrolled in the UTSA Executive MBA Program. Born in Houston and raised just outside of San Antonio, Texas, Ramon enjoys staying active with his family – playing basketball, crossfit, orange theory and many other workout routines with his family.

    He is married to a school teacher (Danielle) and is a proud father of two amazing kids: Patience (2000) and Sawyer (2013).

At Mercer Management Consulting his focus was transportation companies and working on rollups of fragmented businesses. At Putnam Investments, Ted was in the High Yield Bond group working on leveraged buyouts. He also is an experienced entrepreneur and founder of several companies including Natureworks Landscape as well as a golf driving range business and nursery supply chain management business.

    Ted holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management. He earned his Bachelor of Science in business management from Bentley University and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Ted is a member of Launchpad Venture Group, a Boston-based angel investment group, providing funding and advice to early-stage companies.

    Prior to joining LexisNexis, Lukens was Product Development Manager with AIG’s personal lines auto group, where he was responsible for building and delivering new multivariate rating models for the agency and direct distribution channels. He has also managed claims operations in AIG’s personal lines auto group, serving as process leader for both the physical damage and casualty areas.

    Dr. Colin Smithers gained BSc and PhD degrees in electronics from Surrey University (Guildford, UK), joining PA Technology in 1985. In 1989 he co-founded and is Chairman of Plextek, the leading communications technology group that has produced Telensa (street lighting control), Blighter Surveillance Systems (electronic scanning radar) and helped form Pneumacare (non-contact lung measurement).

    Since 1992 Plextek has designed for TRACKER Network (UK LoJack licensee and Fleet Tracking operator), in 2004 becoming sole supplier to LoJack, delivering over 5 million tracking devices into the automotive aftermarket worldwide.

    In 2010 Colin founded Redtail Telematics with offices in Cambridge and San Diego and which now supplies fleet and insurance markets, notably: Ingenie, Admiral, Tracker Network (UK), MyDrive Solutions, Direct Line, Axa, and American Transit Insurance Corporation (New York).
